Stunning. This has been some comeback by India . After being outclassed in the series opener last month, India have crushed England in all the remaining three matches. They won the second Test by 317 runs to draw level at one-all before taking the lead with a 10-wicket win in the third Test in Ahmedabad. And they did one better by clinching the fourth and final match by an innings and 25 runs with Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin taking a five-wicket haul each in the second innings.

England 135-All Out: OUT! Ravichandran Ashwin cleans up Daniel Lawrence on 50, completes his five-wicket haul and India have crushed England by an innings and 25 runs to win the series 3-1.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 03:47:44 pm
Ashwin Strikes: OUT! England lose their ninth wicket. Jack Leach has been caught at the first slip by Ajinkya Rahane. The decision has been referred to the third umpire. Soft signal is out. This one saw Leach coming forward and going for the defensive shot but the ball takes the outside edge and is pouched by Rahane. Leach scored 2 off 31. England nine down. Score 135/9, trail India by 26 runs

Fifty for Daniel Lawrence: Superb innings from Lawrence. He reaches his second Test fifty with a single. Has so far faced 93 deliveries and struck six fours. Has shown good technique and temperament, something which has England been terribly short of, especially in this contest.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 03:32:49 pm
Time for a drinks-break now. Dan Lawrence has reached 49 off 91 and giving him company is Jack Leach on 1 off 19. England are 132/8, still trailing by 28 runs.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 03:24:00 pm
Daniel Lawrence has pinched two consecutive fours off Axar Patel. He knows it’s inevitable so why not have some fun. And hopefully, he can force India to bat again and avoid the ignominy of an innings defeat. Can he? England are now trailing by just 37 runs. Score 122/8 in 49 overs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 03:20:09 pm
Stat Alert: Axar Patel has equalled the record for most wickets in his debut series – he has now 27 wickets same as Dillip Doshi

Sat, 06 Mar 2021 03:13:01 pm
Axar Gets His Fifer: OUT! Dom Bess has been given out caught-behind. He went down on one knee, looking to play a sweep but instead only managed an inside edge that was caught by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. He scored 2 off 6. The tourists have lost their eighth wicket. India nearing an innings win in Ahmedabad. England 111/8, trail India by 49 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 03:04:37 pm
Axar With The Breakthrough: OUT! Simply outstanding from Ajinkya Rahane. A excellent catch from the India vice-captain at first slip as he ends Ben Foakes’ innings on 13 off 46. Foakes came forward and got an outside edge that flew to Rahane who took the catch but wasn’t sure. The decision was referred and it confirmed Rahane has indeed caught the low catch safely. The 44-run partnership has been ended by Axar Patel. England lose their seventh wicket. Score 109/7, trail by 51 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 02:51:06 pm
England Cross 100-Run Mark: Dan Lawrence and Zak Crawley are fighting back. The pair has so far added 39 runs for the seventh wicket. Lawrence is batting on 27 while Foakes has made 11 off 38. Score is 104/6 and the tourists trail India by 56 runs.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 02:31:30 pm
We are back for the third and final session of the day. Washington Sundar to start the proceedings. England 91/6, trail by 69 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 02:18:23 pm
The second session comes to an end. The contest is now headed one way. The question is how one-sided with the final result be? England have slumped to 91/6 after conceding a lead of 160 runs. Their big guns are back in the dressing room including captain Joe Root and talisman Ben Stokes. R Ashwin and Axar Patel have taken three wickets each. England still need 69 runs to force India to bat again. They have Dan Lawrence and Ben Foakes in the middle now. Will they avoid innings defeat? Join us shortly after the tea-break ends.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 02:16:17 pm
Tea-Break: England 91/6, Trail India by 69 Runs (Daniel Lawrence 16*, Ben Foakes 6*; Ravichandran Ashwin 3/35, Axar Patel 3/28)
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 01:56:48 pm
The last two recognised batsmen are in the middle for England right now. How long can they delay the inevitable? England are still 86 runs behind with four wickets remaining. The danger of innings defeat is very much alive. Score 74/6.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 01:43:01 pm
BIG BLOW TO ENGLAND: Joe Root has been given out LBW. His final innings of the Test innings results in 30 runs off 72. Is that the game for England then? They have lost their best batsman and are reeling at 65/6 in 25.1 overs. This was pitched in line and the umpire raised his finger. Root expectedly reviewed it. But DRS cannot save him this time as that would have hit the off stump. Another one bites the dust. England in danger of losing this contest by an innings now.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 01:40:49 pm
India vs England Live Updates: OUT! Ollie Pope has been stumped. He skipped forward to Axar Patel and was beaten all ends. The ball bounced quite a bit but wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant gobbled it safely and in time to break the bails. Pope was well out of his crease. But the umpire referred the decision. And replay confirms Pope has to walk back to the dressing room. He scored 15 off 31 with one six. England have now lost half of their side. Score 65/5 in 25 overs, trail by 95 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 01:30:16 pm
Ishant Sharma Off The Field: Mayank Agarwal took the field in place of Ishant Sharma seemingly because the veteran pacer is unfit. However, there’s been no official word from the BCCI so far. Mohammed Siraj was brought for a short spell in between but India have now reverted to spin from both the ends right now. Seems like a partnership is finally developing in this innings for England. Joe Root has reached 29 off 70 while Ollie Pope is on 15 off 21. England 58/4, trail India by 102 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 01:10:37 pm
Root Finding Boundaries: Well, he will have to find a lot more of them today and keep batting like he has never batted before coz England are in a hole right now having lost four wickets early after conceding a 160-run first-innings lead. Root is bating on 24 off 53 with three fours
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 01:05:49 pm
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 12:55:05 pm
Axar Gets His Second Wicket: OUT! Ben Stokes has perished. Another poor shot from English batsmen this innings. He went for a sweep and found Virat Kohli at leg-slip to be caught. He takes a long walk back to the pavilion after managing 2 off 9. England have lost their fourth wicket of the innings. Score 30/4 in 13.1 overs, trail by 130 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 12:46:33 pm
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 12:44:57 pm
Ben Stokes Joins His Captain: Possibly, the two best batsmen of this England team considering how this contest has turned out so far. Joe Root eases some nerves with back-to-back fours of Ravichandran Ashwin – the first a punch through covers while the next driven through covers. He moves to 16 off 28. England 28/3, trail by 132 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 12:42:05 pm
Axar Patel Strikes: OUT! Unfortunate for Dom Sibley! He planted his front foot and went for a full-blooded sweep but the ball lifted after hitting short-leg fielder Shubman Gill on his knee and RIshabh Pant accepted an easy catch. Really unlucky for Sibley. He scored 3 off 21. England have lost their third wicket now. Score 20/3, trail by 140 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 12:31:43 pm
England captain Joe Root is in the middle, joining Dom Sibley. They have been been hurt twice in an over of Ravichandran Ashwin. They are still trailing India by 145 runs on Day 3. It’s going to be a tough day for England, should they manage to survive it that is. A lot will depend on how Root bats from here now. He’s been their best bet but barring the first Test, Root has also failed to produce any substantial innings.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 12:22:28 pm
Ashwin on a Hat-trick: Third duck of the series for Jonny Bairstow! Ravichandran Ashwin has two in two. Bairstow, walked in at No. 3, and flicked the very first delivery he faced of his innings and ended up being caught by Rohit Sharma at leg gully. He goes back from a first-ball duck. Terrible from Bairstow. England lose their second wicket. Score 10/2
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 12:18:31 pm
Ashwin Strikes in His First Over: OUT! Ravichandran Ashwin provides the breakthrough for India right after the resumption. A straight delivery and England opener Zak Crawley edges it to be caught by Ajinkya Rahane in the slips for 5 off 16. England lose their first wicket. Score 10/1 in 4.4 overs, trail by 150 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 12:13:00 pm
We’re back. The second session resumes. Axar Patel to start the proceedings. England trail by 154 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 11:34:47 am
That’s Lunch on Day 3: England openers have played out the three overs safely and added six runs as well. However, off the last delivery of the third over, Mohammed Siraj attempted to stop a drive from Zak Crawley off his own bowling but the ball struck his left thumb leaving him in considerable pain. Even though this was the final delivery before lunch, the physio rushed to the middle. Hopefully, that’s not something to worry much about. England 6/0, trail by 154 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 11:19:46 am
The two England openers – Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley are out in the middle. The new ball has been handed to Mohammed Sira. England trail India by 160 runs. Here we go.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 11:17:23 am
India have finished their first innings on 365 with Rishabh Pant hitting a superlative century followed by Washington Sundar’s equally good 96 not out. At one stage, it seemed that England will end the first session wicketless with Sundar and Axar Patel extending India’s lead beyond 100 runs and scoring boundaries with ease. However, the run out of Patel changed thins in no time. After his dismissal, Stokes hastened India’s end by trapping Ishant Sharma lbw for a first-ball duck and then cleaning up Mohammed Siraj for a duck as well. England will have to come out for about 15 mins to bat before the lunch break now.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 11:13:40 am
India 365-All Out in First Innings, Lead by 160 Runs: UNLUCKY! Washington Sundar watches from the other end as Ben Stokes cleans up Mohammed Siraj for a duck. Sundar stranded on 96. You feel sorry for the youngster but he should be proud of his effort. He struck 10 fours and a six during his effort to give India a handy first innings lead. Siraj out for a three-ball duck.
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 11:08:02 am
Ishant Sharma out for a duck: Oh dear! Is Washington Sundar going to be stranded in the 90s? Ben Stokes has trapped Ishant Sharma duck for a first-ball duck by Ben Stokes. The bowler didn’t even look at the umpire, nor did Ishant as he walked back to the dressing room, This was pitched outside off and would have gone on to hit the leg stump. India 365/9 in 114.1 overs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 11:04:23 am
Axar Patel Run Out: Oh dear! This has come against the run of play. Washington Sundar pushed the full toss down towards mid-on. Jonny Bairstow picks it up and releases the ball quickly. Axar Patel wanted a run but he was sent back but by the time he was back, Joe Root had disturbed the bails. The decision went to the third umpire and he confirmed the same. Axar run out on 43 off 97 with five fours and a six. India lose their eighth wicket. Score 365/8, lead by 160 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 10:49:02 am
Score Goes Past 350 Runs: England are unable to find answers to how Washington Sundar and Axar Patel have been batting this morning. Joe Root has inserted himself into the attack now. He has looked to be the most effective England spinner this innings – and he’s just a part-time bowler. Ben Stokes continues from one end. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar is batting on 90 off 164 and is 10 runs away from a maiden Test century. Axar Patel is on 37 and is nearing fifty of his own. India lead by 146 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 10:24:57 am
India vs England Live Score: James Anderson’s spell finally ends with Ben Stokes replacing him. Can he conjure something like he did on Day 2 when he put England on top with the scalps of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma? Judging by the way Washington Sundar and Axar Patel have gone about their business today, it seems like England bowlers are in for a long day. Stokes’ first over of the morning resulted in just a single while the following over of Jack Leach got India five runs including a four to Sundar. India now lead by 133 runs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 10:09:50 am
LIVE: With Dom Bess proving expensive, England captain Joe Root has summoned left-arm spinner Jack Leach to join the seasoned James Anderson. However, Axar Patel gave him a cold welcome belting him for two fours in his first over of the morning – the first one chipped over long-on while the next to deep cover. Anderson meanwhile continues to test the batters and being economical from one end. The first half-an-hour of Day 3 has firmly gone in India’s favour. India lead by 117 runs. Score 322/7 in 102 overs
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 09:49:41 am
India vs England Live: So England have kicked off the proceedings with pace in James Anderson and spin in Dom Bess. And it’s the India batters who have had the better of these early exchanges. While Anderson bowled two straight maidens, Bess conceded a four in his first over of the morning to Axar Patel. In his next over, Washington Sundar went big with a six over the bowler’s head and followed that with a four over cover. Meanwhile, he score has also crossed 300-run mark. The lead is now 104 runs. Score 309/7
Sat, 06 Mar 2021 09:30:03 am
We are all set for the moving day now. The two unbeaten India batsmen Washington Sundar and Axar Patel will aim to extend the 89-run lead to as far as possible. England will aim to clean up the tail as soon as possible. Will the momentum shift again as has on numerous occasions during the first two day of the contests? Or will the hosts continue to build on the advantage? James Anderson with the new ball. Here we go.
