Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big interview with Oprah Winfrey has already got the world talking – for better or, in a lot of instances, for much worse – and it hasn’t even aired yet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are currently expecting their second child, sat down with the legendary American talk show host for what’s presumed to be an open and honest discussion about their experiences in recent years.
With broadcasting slots now confirmed in both the US and the UK, how will you be able to tune in and see it for yourself?

Meghan and Harry: A Primetime Special is scheduled to air on Sunday, March 7, on the CBS Television Network from 9pm ET/PT.
Prince Harry also recently appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden. While showing his Royal friend the sights of Southern California – which, of course, included the IRL Fresh Prince of Bel Air mansion – Corden’s chat touched on family life with baby Archie, Zoom calls with relatives back in the UK and what he really makes of Netflix’s The Crown.

After the release of its trailer, rumours started circulating that ITV had picked up the rights to air the programme in the UK. This has since been confirmed by the broadcaster.
ITV’s Managing Director for Media and Entertainment, Kevin Lygo, announced: “This interview is already a national talking point and ITV is pleased to be able to offer UK audiences the opportunity to see it.”
The two-hour special will air on Monday, March 8, at 9pm on ITV. It will also be available to stream online via the ITV Hub.
(Unforgotten, which usually airs in that slot, will be pushed back to Tuesday evening at the same time.)

So, what’s on the agenda for Harry and Meghan’s conversation with Oprah?
Well, Meghan is set to talk about her time stepping into life in the Royal Family, as well as her marriage, being a mother and her long-standing philanthropic work. It’s also expected that the former UN ambassador will touch on her experiences of living under such intense public pressure.

Prince Harry is set to join the interview at a later point, so that the couple can discuss their recent move to the United States and their future plans.
In a few preview clips, already released, the Duke has been seen talking about his mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
“I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago,” he said of the media scrutiny, “because it has been unbelievably tough for the two of us – but at least we had each other”.
Harry went on to add that his “biggest concern” was “history repeating itself”.
“For me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side,” he said.
One of the teasers ends with host Oprah Winfrey telling the couple: “You’ve said some pretty shocking things here.”
In January 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement which outlined their intention to “step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family” and to move to “carve out a progressive new role within this institution”.
“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages,” they said at the time.
Harry and Meghan have since taken legal action against a number of media publishers in the UK, including the Mail on Sunday and Mail Online (via BBC News), and Prince Harry previously released a statement to condemn “false and malicious” tabloid media coverage.
This is not the first time he had spoken out to protect Meghan from scrutiny. In 2016, a letter by the Communications Secretary to Prince Harry was issued to defend his then-girlfriend from “a wave of abuse and harassment” and “sexism and racism” online.
With Meghan and Harry’s primetime special only a few days away from airing, it will be interesting to hear from them what life has been like since leaving the UK.
