Jurgen Klopp Hails Curtis Jones is a “Top player”

Curtis Jones played an integral part in Liverpool’s win at Sheffield United. He opened the scoring with a blistering finish, finally breaching the home side’s seemingly unbeatable goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.

“Klopp [on Jones]: “Top player, that’s why he’s playing. He has to be involved more, that’s clear, like everywhere space to improve.”

Not only did he score, but he also controlled the tempo and drove Liverpool forward. In a relatively negative season, the scouser has emerged as one of the side’s leading midfielders in the absence of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

Currently wearing Steven Gerrard’s old shirt number 17, Jones put in a vital performance tonight. At only 20 years of age, the future looks bright for Liverpool’s latest local lad.
