Nike Celebrates Upcycling With the Dunk Low “City Market”

SNKRS #SNKRS

Nike has offered many multifaceted makeups of the Dunk Low as of late — ranging from Nike Sportswear‘s Dunk Low “Community Garden” to Nike SB‘s SB Dunk Low “Street Hawker” — and the latest wild style to get in on the action is the Dunk Low “City Market.” A homage to urban grocery stores and their upcycling of industrial packaging like rice and coffee bags, the “City Market” is a playful hodgepodge of prints and patterns that somehow manages to come together effortlessly.

Each piece of the upper uses a different printed pattern, ranging from gray and red coffee bag-like quarter panels to red and yellow toeboxes. Textured translucent material is used on Swooshes and tongues, the latter of which is equipped with a nutrition label-inspired tag. The tongue also boasts a small zippered pouch for a nod to reusable grocery totes, popular in cities with plastic bag bans. This bag inspiration is taken even further by a “Thank You for Caring!” hit stamped on the left shoe’s insole. Finishing touches of detail are provided by a “Blue Ribbon Studio” hit that acknowledges Nike precursor Blue Ribbon Sports plus natural colored laces and outsoles.

Interested parties can expect the Nike Dunk Low “City Market” to release via Nike SNKRS come March 4. The MSRP is set at $110 USD.
