The Masked Singer unmasks Joss Stone as Sausage as she wins series – beating Ne-Yo as Badger

THE MASKED Singer unmasked heavily pregnant Joss Stone as Sausage as she won the series this evening – beating Ne-Yo as badger.

Earlier on in tonight’s final, JLS star Aston Merrygold was revealed to be beneath the Robin mask as he finished in third place.

Sausage was the most hotly-contested character throughout the competition – with avid viewers convinced that the mystery star was everyone from Sheridan Smith to Stacey Solomon.

In fact, even Stacey’s fiancé Joe Swash was adamant that she was secretly on the show, but it was 33-year-old singer Joss the entire time.

The judges couldn’t believe their eyes as the final star was revealed, with host Joel Dommett going on to drop the bombshell that the beauty was heavily pregnant beneath her costume.

He said: “It’s so mad to think that you’ve been doing this entire show while heavily pregnant, congratulations!”, with the judges’ jaws dropping open in shock.

Joss welcomed her first child, baby daughter Violet, at the end of January, and was five months pregnant when the ITV show was filmed in September.

When asked why she signed up to The Masked Singer, Joss giggled: “Why not? Life can be too serious, we should dress up as Chips and Sausage and have a sing-song.”

She later added: “This has been the funniest, most hilarious job I have ever had, I have laughed so much!”

Despite the debate surrounding her identity, one eagle-eyed fan previously laid bare all of the tell-tale clues that it was Joss.

These included the references to her famous 200-stop world tour, her Dover birthplace, and the star’s song titles.

Another hint mentioned that Sausage “looks like a horse”, which could relate to Joss playing Anne of Cleves in TV drama The Tudors – with the historical figure often described as looking like the animal.

And in tonight’s show, the character hinted that she’d won a Grammy – which Joss bagged in 2007.

Meanwhile, guest judge Nicola Roberts – who won the show last year as Queen Bee – was stunned to see her teen idol Ne-Yo beneath the Badger mask.

Badger had been the most difficult identity to pin down this series – with judges and viewers torn right up until he was unmasked.

While Nicola was convinced that it was the US singer, other guesses throughout the series included James Blunt, Jamiroquai, and Anderson Paak.
