Colin Parachek left his mark on Dexter’s football program and now he’ll take the next step in his maturation as football player.
After the NCAA National Signing Day came and went on Wednesday without Parachek signing an national letter of intent, he posted on his Twitter Thursday that he was “going all in on myself.”
The former Dreadnaught signal caller had college offers from several schools after capping his record-setting career, but it’s now known why he didn’t sign this week.
The 6-foot-4 quarterback announced Friday afternoon his plans to reclassify to the 2022 recruiting class and attend Myrtle Beach Collegiate Academy – a post-graduate football program in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina – for the upcoming 2021 season.
“Looking forward to my recruitment as a 2022 prospect,” Parachek wrote on his Twitter account Friday.

Parachek was one of the state’s and Ann Arbor-area’s best quarterbacks during his career with the Dreadnaughts.
He helped transform the team from one of the worst programs in the state to a playoff contender. While Parachek was under center, Dexter averaged 40 points per game and amassed a record of 19-9.
Parachek set the school’s single-season records for passing yards (2816), completions (182) and TD passes (39) as junior.
He then set individual game records for passing yards (507) and TD passes (7) against Jackson and completions (36) versus Livonia Churchill during the 2020 season.
For his career, Parachek completed 518-of-826 passes for 7,561 yards and 90 touchdowns, while also rushing for 14 touchdowns.
According to the Michigan High School Athletics Association (MHSAA), he ranks sixth all-time in TD passes, seventh all-time in completions and 11th all-time in passing yards.
He also helped lead Dexter to its first-ever playoff victory this season and three consecutive playoff appearances.
Parachek was named Associated Press Division 1-2 second team all-state the past two seasons and was first-team all-Southeastern Conference Red and first-team Ann Arbor Dream Team in 2019 and 2020.
Parachek had college offers from Valparaiso, Lake Erie and Northwood before ultimately choosing to reclassify and become a 2022 prospect.
