Connor McDavid once again victimizes Maple Leafs with ridiculous goal

Hyman #Hyman

Connor McDavid continues to do Connor McDavid things — especially against the Maple Leafs.

Last year, he victimized Morgan Rielly ; this year, he burned not one Toronto player, but four of them.

With the Oilers on a power play in the second period Saturday night, McDavid got the puck at his own blue line and took off. He skated through the neutral zone and then dipsy-doodled past Zach Hyman before going straight through three Leafs defenders in their own end.

Hyman tried to slash him. Jake Muzzin tried to grab his jersey. Muzzin also tried to hook him, but McDavid kept going and eventually scored on a backhander past Frederik Andersen with one leg in the air.

There is no stopping Connor McDavid.

He also had a cheat-code power-play goal  on Jan. 14 against the Canucks in the Oilers’ first win of the 2021 season.

Saturday’s goal on “Hockey Night in Canada” was the Oilers captain’s sixth tally of the year and 168th of his young career. He now has six goals and 14 assists (he assisted on Josh Archibald’s goal in the second) in 13 career games against the Maple Leafs.

It should be noted that ex-Leafs defenseman Tyson Barrie got the assist on McDavid’s goal, but to be fair, the goal was all McDavid.
