Lorraine’s stand-in host Christine Lampard was left shocked as she was forced to apologise to viewers after Brian Blessed swore live on Thursday’s show.

The legendary actor, 83, left fans in stitches as they claimed he ‘provided the most British reaction to coronavirus’ by telling the pandemic in ‘b****r off’ in his hilarious rant.

Holding back laughter, the broadcaster, 41, said: ‘It has been the most extraordinary time, I’m sure some of us would use even a stronger word than that, but obviously we can’t and we will apologise for any bad language.’

The screen star used offensive language as he became passionate about ‘beating’ the novel virus.

Speaking from his Surrey home, Brian said: ‘This COVID virus… I really want to say one swear word – b****r off!

‘We will beat it, it will go away, I believe in the human spirit and we and we are showing immense courage in this country, down to the NHS.’

‘Brian Blessed is a national treasure. 83 years old and full of life. Love the man. Brian Blessed providing the most british reaction to the coronavirus.’

This is not the first time the Flash Gordon star swore on-air, as Good Morning Britain’s lead anchor Piers Morgan apologised to viewers after Brian committed the blunder three times back in January.

The thespian appeared on the show with his daughter Rosalind when Piers, 55, asked if it was true how men bore him.

The presenter was referring to an interview last week in The Guardian, where Brian said: ‘My heroes – my heroines- are women. All my life, 90% of men have bored the a**e off me. And it is women who have taught me everything.’

The Shakespearean stage legend replied: ‘Can I saw a**e? I won’t say a**e, I promise. A lot of men bore the a**e of me’.
