WE SAW A DECENT AMOUNT OF SNOW IN THE METRO, BUT WHEN THE WIND IS BLOWING 60 MILES PER HOUR IT’S HARD TO GET THE MEASUREMENT. THIS IS WHAT WE’VE GOT SO FAR. THIS MAY BE YOU, MAY HAVE BEEN YOU EARLIER TODAY. IT MAY BE YOU TOMORROW. THE SNOW TOTALS. SIX INCHES LITTLE SIOUX, HARLAN AND UNDERWOOD FOUR INCHES. HIGHS WERE HIGHER IN SOUTHWEST IOWA. TWO INCHES PAPILLAE ON, 2.2 OFFICIAL READING SO FAR AT EPPLEY AIRFIELD, LINCOLN JUST A HAIR UNDER 2, NORFOLK UNDER AN INCH. OR FOLKS ARE STRONGEST WIND GUST, 67 MILES PER HOUR — NORFOLK THE STRONGEST WIND GUST, 67 MILE PER HOUR. EPPLEY AIRFIELD, 60 MILES PER HOUR. THAT COMBINED WITH T SNOW MADE IT DIFFICULT TO TRAVEL, CONDITIONS DANGEROUS AT TIMES. WIND GUSTS NOW STILL 30, 35 MOST PER HOUR ACROSS EASTERN NEBRASKA AND WESTER IOWA, BUT VISIBILITY DRASTICALLY IMPROVED FROM EARLIER TODAY. MOST SPOTS RIGHT NOW PERFECT VISIBILITY AT 10 MILES, THOUGH WITH THE WIND GUSTS COULD STILL SEE PATCHY BLOWING SNOW IN RURAL AREAS AS WE GO THROUGH THE NIGHTTIME. THIS IS A LOOK FROM METHODI HOSPITAL, THE TOPS OF THE TOWERS DOWNTOWN, THAT IS HOW YOU KNOW THE VISIBILITY IS GOOD. THE FLAG BLOWING, THE CAMERA SHAKING A LITTLE BIT. DODGE LOOKS GOOD RIGHT NOW, BUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS STILL PARTIALLY COVERED, SO SLICK SPOTS POSSIBLE THROUGH TONIGHT INTO THE MORNING. STILL REPORTING A FEW SNOWFLAKES AT THE AIRPORT, 30 DEGREES, BUT WITH THE WIND FEELS LIKE 18. THIS AFTERNOON THE DRY AIR COMING IN, SHUTTING DOWN THE SNOW QUICKLY TOWARDS 3:00, 4:00. THIS BIG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM, THE COUNTERCLOCKWISE SPIN OVER THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY CONTINUES TO PUSH OFF TO THE EAST. THINGS WILL WIND DOWN TONIGHT, THE WIND EVENTUALLY CALMS DOWN. SATURDAY MORNING STARTING WITH CLOUDS, SOME PEAKS OF SUNSHINE, BUT MAINLY CLOUDY THROUGH MOST OF SATURDA KIND OF A TYPICAL JANUARY DAY. BUT MUCH QUIETER THAN TODAY. BREEZY AT TIMES, 33 THE HIGH. A LITTLE MORE SUNSHINE, A LITTLE MORE BREEZY SUNDAY, BUT TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE IN THE MID TO POSSIBLY UPPER 30’S. WENDY EARL ON, WIND GUSTS OVER 30, AND WATCH OUT FOR SLICK SPOTS AS THE TEMPERATURES DROP INTO THE LOWER 20’S. THAT IS WHY WE HAVE THE IMPACT ICON AT 6 A.M. WATCH OUT FOR SLOWER TRAVEL AT TIMES. TEMPERATURES INTO THE 30’S BY THE AFTERNOON. EARLY SEVEN SUNDAY. LUTHER KING DAY MONDAY, UPPER 40’S, SLIGHT CHANCE OF A SHOWER, BUT FAIRLY DRY. MILD MOST OF THE WE COME HIGHS
