Oregon QB Anthony Brown leads impressive 98-yard touchdown drive in Fiesta Bowl

The Oregon Ducks defense came up with a goal line stand midway through the second quarter against the Iowa State Cyclones to keep the score 14-7 Cyclones lead.

As the Ducks offense trotted onto the field with 98 yards of green, natural grass in front of them, backup quarterback Anthony Brown jogged onto the field to take over the offense.

Brown led a nine-play, 98-yard drive that latest 3 minutes and 21 seconds and resulted in a 16-yard rush by Brown for the touchdown. It was Brown’s second rushing touchdown of the game.

The question then presents itself. Shough was not injured and was 3-for-3 for 41 yards on the game so far. But the Ducks rolled with Brown on that drive.

Will Brown take over for Shough the rest of the game?

Duck fans saw their first glimpse of Brown in the Pac-12 Championship Game against the USC Trojans. In the win, Brown completed 3-of-4 passes for 17 yards and two touchdowns. He was used primarily in the redzone.

We’ll see if the Ducks play Shough or Brown or interchanging the two for the rest of this game. As for the future, to entice players to play in the 2020 college football season, the NCAA has given a free year for players, who will not lose a year of eligibility regardless of snaps played this season.

Will Brown stay with Oregon for another season?
