First Alert Weather: Nice Saturday, good chance of rain for St. Patrick’s Day
Good Saturday #GoodSaturday
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – We’re getting started on our Saturday morning with a chance of some patchy fog. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for Chilton and Coosa counties, but so far we’re not seeing much evidence of fog early on, but that may change.
We do have mostly cloudy skies though with temps in the 50s to 60s this morning.
But this is shaping up to be a pretty nice Saturday.
Clouds could be a bit stubborn today, but the temps should be nice. I’m going with an average high close to 72 today.

THE NEXT BIG THING: Plan for another good chance of rain on St. Patrick’s Day. Guidance shows a large shield of light to moderate rain slowly moving east across the area during the day. Expect the rain to increase to the far west during the early morning hours and exiting to the east Sunday night. The rain will be lighter across northern areas, with higher rainfall totals in areas to the south. No severe weather is expected.
Colder and drier air will settle in on Monday, with a First Alert for lows near freezing by Tuesday morning. Plan for a frost and freeze threat Tuesday morning. We may also see more patchy frost early next Wednesday. You can expect dry weather through the middle of the week, with the chance for rain returning by next Friday.
