Emily Maitlis was told to ‘f**k off’ by US politician Marjorie Taylor Greene in a shocking interview.

The republican congresswoman was interviewed by the former BBC journalist at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago headquarters in Florida, and the conversation quickly turned to conspiracy theories.

Maitlis asked Greene why ‘so many people who support Donald Trump love conspiracy theories, including yourself’ during the exchange.

‘Let me tell you, you’re a conspiracy theorist,’ Greene fired back.

‘The left and the media spread more conspiracy theories. We like the truth, we like supporting out Constitution, our freedoms and America First.’

An annoyed Greene then began to walk away while telling the TV crew: ‘We’re all done now.’

Maitlis was still able to get in one extra question, specifically asking about a since-deleted Facebook post from 2018 shared by Greene, which suggested a space laser owned by the Rothschild family was responsible for a devastating wildfire in California.

Greene hit back: ‘Why don’t you go talk about Jewish space lasers and really why don’t you f*ck off? How about that?’

As Greene stormed off from the chat Maitlis told her: ‘Thank you very much.’

The 53-year-old was covering the event for her podcast The News Agents, after Trump secured wins for candidacy in primary states.

Before the interview took the downward spiral, Greene suggested Republican opponent Nikki Haley should drop out, and shared her intention to help Trump in ‘any way he’d ask me’ including being Vice President. However, she added he had a long list of options.

Trump is confident about being re-elected, and told guests at his Flordia private club that November 5 – the presidential election day – is going to be ‘the single most important day in the history’.

Maitlis is known for her impressive interview skills, and most notably, her Newsnight special with Prince Andrew.

The award-winning interview saw Maitlis sit down with the Duke of York who denied having sex with Virginia Giuffre.

Giuffre claims she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein when she was 17 and was still a minor under US law. However, he claimed he couldn’t have met her on the day claimed as he was at a Pizza Express in Woking.

The events surrounding the interview will be retold in Netflix film Scoop with Gillian Anderson playing Maitlis.
