What a beautiful early taste of spring we experienced this weekend. Temperatures yesterday skyrocketed to 81 for a record high. Today the heat will be sticking around giving us a chance to go back to back on records.
We’ll have to warm up to 79 to tie the record set back in 1938, the same year Seabiscuit was named Horse of the Year. I have us forecasted just under the mark, but if enough sunshine peeks in this afternoon hour, we have a good shot of taking it down.
Today is shaping up to be the warmest day this week as a cold front will arrive in the evening, sweeping away some of our warmth.
Furthermore, tonight we can see some thunderstorm development along the front as it passes. I’m expecting isolated thunderstorms mainly east of Highway 65 with the main threat being hail and damaging winds.
We will remain cloudy on Tuesday with most places remaining dry, however, rainfall may persist for areas south. Temperatures will additionally not be as warm as we’ve been spoiled with highs in the mid-60s.
A good mix of sun and clouds for Wednesday with a low-pressure system arriving Thursday returning widespread rain chances. We will transition from spring warmth to soggy weather. Daily rain chances will persist until we dry out on Sunday.
