The count is under way in the Rochdale by-election, with voters in the Greater Manchester seat choosing a new MP following the death of Sir Tony Lloyd

There are 11 candidates standing for election to replace Lloyd, who died on 17 January at the age of 73

George Galloway, from the Workers Party of GB, declared an early victory as counting continues, with independent David Tully also doing well

Turnout in the by-election was 39.7% and the results are expected at about 03:00 GMT
