Sassuolo have FOUR goals disallowed for offside by VAR during Serie A defeat to Napoli on Saturday

Serie A side Sassuolo had four goals disallowed for offside by VAR in their unfortunate 2-0 defeat away at Napoli on Saturday night.
Elseid Hysaj put the hosts in front after eight minutes but then Sassuolo then had four strikes they believed to be legitimate goals taken away by the video technology.
Three out of the four offside calls were not spotted by referee Gianluca Aureliano nor his linesmen, with Napoli midfielder Allan putting the game beyond the visitors in second-half stoppage time.

Midfielder Filip Duricic was the first Sassuolo player to have a goal disallowed for offside
The first goal struck off by VAR came after 32 minutes when Sassuolo midfielder Filip Duricic poked home at the near post past David Ospina, but the Serbian was marginally offside when put through on goal by Francesco Caputo.
Duricic was then denied another goal just five minutes later when he crashed home a rebound after Hamed Junior Traore’s shot had been parried by Ospina, but Traore was caught offside by the video referee in the build-up.
After going in behind at the break, Sassuolo thought they found the equaliser just four minutes after half-time when Caputo crashed in an effort at the near post, but the Italian forward was inches offside despite Napoli’s Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s best efforts to keep him onside.

And a little over ten minutes after that, Domenico Berardi curled home a fabulous goal past Ospina but Caputo, who laid on the assist for the Sassuolo man, was a yard offside when the ball was played to him.
The result moves Napoli two points behind fifth-placed Roma, who have played a game less.
Napoli also move a point behind AC Milan in sixth, who dropped points at home to high-flying Atalanta on Friday night. Gattuso’s side have already qualified for Europe after defeating Juventus in the Coppa Italia final.
Sassuolo, meanwhile, lie one place behind Napoli in eighth after a fantastic season under coach Roberto De Zerbi, but are eleven points behind Gattuso’s side with two league games remaining.
