House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was slammed for claiming some “faith-oriented” Republican lawmakers said they “don’t believe in science.”
“You don’t believe what you are saying. At all. This is political hackery — just like your refusal to help small business, your no mask hair cut, your vaccine PR photos, & all of it,” Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy said in response to Pelosi’s comments.
The reaction came in response to Pelosi saying Monday morning on the House floor: “So now we have a vaccine, and that gives us hope. A vaccine that springs from science. People say around here sometimes, ‘I’m faith-oriented, so I don’t believe in science.’ And I say, well, you can do both.”
“Science is an answer to our prayers,” Pelosi said. “And our prayers have been answered with a vaccine.”
Others joined Roy in slamming Pelosi for the comments, with some saying she was “lying.”
