FLINT, MI — A Flint woman has sued the city in federal court, claiming the suspension of Councilman Eric Mays violates her constitutional rights and the rights of approximately 10,000 residents who live in the ward that he represents.
The class action lawsuit filed by Kerensz Harris on Tuesday, Feb. 20, claims the city and the City Council are violating the free speech and due process rights of all 1st Ward residents by leaving them without a voice in city government while Mays serves a 90-day suspension for unbecoming conduct.
