Taylor Swift Fans Think “The Bolter” Is a Reference to *This* Viral Joe Alwyn Moment
The Bolter #TheBolter
Taylor Swift dropped some new information onto everyone’s laps during her Eras Tour concert in Melbourne: (1) a shiny new cover for The Tortured Poets Department and (2) the fact that the album’s bonus track is titled “The Bolter.”
And though you may think the song title is pretty vague due to it being only two words, fans have already found a connection to Tay’s ex Joe Alwyn thanks to a viral video of him running (some might say ~bolting~) out of a building and into a car with the musician while they were dating:
I mean….I can see it! And there are definitely plenty of other clues that Tortured Poets could be *at least* in part about Joe (“So Long, London,” anyone?). Of course, no one actually knows where this album drew inspo from except Taylor, but either way, Joe reportedly seems to be prepared.
A source recently told the Daily Mail that “If it is a diss album, that is shady. [Joe] helped her with songwriting on her past album so it will really come as a shock to him if she talks about their breakup, as it is something he has not spoken of at all. Regardless of what she does, he will still not respond because he has removed himself from her narrative and is very glad he did.”
While we’re all gathered ’round, now seems like a good time to dust off some source quotes from Joe and Taylor’s breakup…
Specifically, when an insider told People that “Joe has struggled with Taylor’s level of fame and the attention from the public.” AND when an anonymous pot-stirrer told the Daily Mail “It’s been hard for Joe trying to make it in Hollywood and not quite becoming leading man material while dating one of the most famous women in the world over the last six years. It was easier during the pandemic when it was just the two of them, but once things returned to normal, Taylor Swift the superstar emerged, and their differences were even more apparent.”
