Warm end to week; weekend will be sunny and seasonal despite cold front

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good evening and happy Friday eve!

As we get ready to close out the week and head into the weekend, we are expecting more mild weather on the way for Friday and a sunny weekend for the Charlotte region. While a shower is possible on Monday after what was a very wet January, the first 10 days of February look relatively dry and seasonal.

As for tonight and Friday, we will see a few more clouds tonight, but otherwise a cool and dry night is in store. Lows overnight will be in the mid-30s with most staying above freezing. After a cool start, temperatures will quickly move into the mid-60s by the afternoon with partly cloudy skies making for a fabulous end to the week.

A weak cold front will move through Friday evening and will help to push temperatures down to the mid-50s over the weekend, but more sunshine is expected for the Carolinas. Later in the day on Sunday we will see some increasing clouds out ahead of a low-pressure system that could push some showers into the region on Monday. While some wet weather is possible, the vast majority of us could stay dry.
