Jimmy Fallon has joined fellow late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel in using his airtime to clown on Aaron Rodgers, as The Tonight Show host took a shot at the New York Jets quarterback during his Tuesday, February 6 episode.

During his opening monologue, Kimmel was discussing the verdict handed down by a Washington D.C. court that states the indicted former President does not have immunity from prosecution for any crimes he may have committed.

In response to the ruling, the Trump campaign issued a statement saying that he “respectfully disagrees,” which served as the set-up for Fallon’s joke on Tuesday night.

“If Trump knew how to respectfully disagree with a loss, he wouldn’t be on trial in the first place,” Fallon joked.

“Aaron Rodgers said ‘No immunity? Join the club, bud,’” Fallon joked. “Then Trump said ‘My entire legal defense is falling apart.’ Then Boeing said ‘Falling apart? Join the club, bud,’” he said. “Then Trump said ‘My lawyers are useless. I might as well fire them and use a soulless AI robot.’ Then Mark Zuckerberg said ‘Soulless AI robot? Join the club, bud.”

Rodgers, of course, recently got into a war of words with Jimmy Kimmel Live! host Jimmy Kimmel. Harboring ill will over jokes that Kimmel made about Rodgers’ opinions about the pandemic and the vaccine, Rodgers implied that Kimmel was an associate of Jeffrey Epstein.

In response, Kimmel threatened to sue Rodgers, which led to the latter going back on The Pat McAfee Show to deliver a vague apology.

It’s certainly surprising to see Fallon wade into political subject matter as the 49-year-old has become largely known for his usually vanilla, uncontroversial comedy.
