Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (February 6) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Wednesday February 7 at 7pm.
Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) was left absolutely devastated when he arrived on Dillon Ray’s (Nathaniel Dass) doorstep to find out that his crush had just slept with Freya Calder (Ellie Henry).
The teen, who is struggling with his sexuality, has developed very strong feelings for Dillon, who feels the same way, with things looking rather positive in regards to the prospect of a romance earlier this week after they bonded further.
Dillon had previously kissed Freya during a game of spin the bottle, which left Lucas upset as he stormed off but Dillon gave chase and the two shared a romantic moment as they held one another’s hand.
Tuesday’s streaming offering of the E4 soap picked up the following day, with Dillon keen to discuss his and Lucas’ little moment further, wanting to know what exactly it meant.
Lucas, however, was quick to backtrack, claiming he didn’t know what Dillon was talking about and, when he later witnessed Dillon flirting with Freya at school, he retaliated by telling headmaster Carter Shepherd (David Ames) about their impromptu drinking session at his flat.

Carter subsequently reprimand the students who took part, with Dillon frustrated that Lucas had reverted to his old troublemaking ways by telling tales on everyone. A fight almost broke out between the two, which inevitably landed them both in detention.
But despite the animosity, the two boys took the opportunity to speak more freely about their feelings, with a rare moment of honesty seeing Lucas admit that he wasn’t okay about Dillon kissing Freya.
Dillon appreciated such honesty and, as their bonding session continued, he suggested that Lucas come over to his later that evening to talk about their burgeoning connection in more detail.
It really was feeling like the beginning of something special.

But this is soap we’re talking about and happy endings are far and few between so, in typical Hollyoaks fashion, heartbreak ensued.
Eager to impress his crush, Lucas proceeded to get all dressed up, while Dillon did the same at the Maalik household, and it soon became clear that this rendezvous was giving off strong date vibes.
But Leah Barnes (Ela-May Demircan), who is grieving the loss of best mate Ella Richardson (Erin Palmer), burst into tears, leaving kind-hearted Lucas with little choice but to stay with his big sister, giving her a hug and the comfort that she needed.
Dillon, however, started to suspect that Lucas’ lateness was a sign that he’d stood him up and thus when Freya arrived on his doorstep he was quick to invite her in.

Dillon and Freya discussed their previous kiss and, soon enough, one thing led to another, with the two having sex. Lucas, meanwhile, arrived at the Maaliks’ soon afterwards and, with a hopeful smile on his face, he apologised to Dillon for being late, telling him he’s ‘ready’.
But his smile faded when he realised that Dillon was in a state of undress and, when Freya revealed that she was also at the Maaliks, the teen put two and two together. Struggling to hold back the tears, he swiftly left.
This will inevitably set Lucas back, with more sinister scenes to come as Carter targets him and begins to use conversion therapy on him.
