Picking out the England winger with a delightful pass, Caicedo finally had reason to celebrate after his first assist since £115million move from Brighton.

However, just three minutes later the Ecuadorian over-complicated things in midfield once again and was tackled by Joao Gomes.

The Wolves midfielder then carried the ball and gave it to Matheus Cunha, whose shot was deflected in off Thiago Silva.

Then, minutes before half-time, Caicedo managed to lose Rayan Ait-Nouri for a Wolves attack with the Moroccan finishing off a Pedro Neto pullback to make it 2-1.

The 22-year-old became the third-most expensive footballer of all-time in August 2023, despite having just 53 appearances to his name in a major European league.

Since then he’s played 27 out of a possible 30 games for Chelsea this season in a tricky campaign for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Wolves would leapfrog the Blues into the top half with a win, with Chelsea falling further from the European spots despite their incredible £1billion spend under Todd Boehly.
