Tate McRae was invited to the NHL All-Star Game before her ex-boyfriend, Cole Sillinger. That’s just a fact.
What we don’t know for certain, however, is how their relationship ended or why.
There are a lot of rumors about the split and Sillinger is apparently tired of what he perceives as slander. The Columbus Blue Jackets’ 20-year-old center fired back at the allegations from home while McRae plays a crucial roll in the league’s All-Star Weekend in Toronto.
Sillinger, drafted No. 12 overall in the 2021 NHL Draft, had a standout rookie year. And then he struggled greatly in during the 2022/23 season. Columbus even sent him down to the AHL for 11 games.
Although things have turned around on the ice this year, Sillinger continues to get flambéed for letting McRae get away. He and the Canadian singer, songwriter, dancer, and social media sensation split up in early 2023.
They started dating shortly after Sillinger admitted that Tate McRae was his celebrity crush in 2021 and were spotted together in public throughout 2022.

Sillinger and McRae wiped each other from their Instagram pages prior to September of 2023.
At that point, the latter firmly declared that she was single.
Rumors started to run wild.
Sillinger was accused of having a Tinder profile while dating McRae. The alleged infidelity was supposedly the end of their relationship. Internet sleuths tried to get to the bottom of things and ultimately concluded that the NHLer was indeed running a verified profile on the dating app, but nothing was ever officially confirmed. It was all speculation.
Sillinger claims that all of the gossip was, and is, false. He claimed that he never fumbled McRae in response to a post about his ex’s role at the NHL All-Star Game.
Here is the post:
Sillinger replied in the comments.
All false my guy

We will likely never know the full story. McRae has not commented. Sillinger says he never cheated.
