Getting a Crashed Ferrari Up on a Flatbed Truck Is the Owner’s Worst Nightmare

A Ferrari 458 was crashed in Beverly Hills. The driver reportedly hit a Toyota. Luckily, nobody was injured, but we can’t say the same thing about the cars. Furthermore, watching the Ferrari being loaded on a tow truck, screeching and squeaking while its wheels are stuck, is terribly painful. With the owner nowhere to be seen, the operators did their best. Hopefully.

There are no details regarding the crash that happened on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, in the vicinity of a luxury hotel. But the Ferrari 458 ended up with both left and right sides damaged, exposing the internals on the passenger’s side, while the front wheel on the driver’s side seems to be ripped off somehow after presumably hit a curb.

The airbags were deployed on the left side, while on the right side, a closer look at the damage is enough to understand that this car might end up in a scrapyard to be sold for parts or go straight to the crusher.

What got the attention of those filming, besides the condition of the cars involved, was the fact that the Ferrari 458 was unloaded from a flatbed truck just to be put on another one. And both processes seemed to be very complicated and harmful for the poor vehicle.

When unloading the Ferrari from the first tow truck, the operators had to simply shake the load bed to get it off of it because it seemed stuck. And all of this time, it sounded like the supercar was falling apart. Actually, it was not just our impression because, once unloaded, we could all see parts of it left behind on the flatbed.

The operators are filming everything as they probably want to show that it wasn’t them who caused even more damage to the Ferrari. In fact, what we see in the video shows the exact opposite.

A forklift shows up ready to lift the Ferrari if necessary. But the operators tied it to the new flatbed that arrived at the scene and started pulling it up. The procedure is excruciating. It is a supercar owner’s worst nightmare.

But the wheels are locked, and the Ferrari is getting tortured with every inch it goes up. The video shooting stops and then shows the Ferrari already loaded, sparing us the pain of watching the entire procedure.

The one filming is only presuming that the Ferrari driver might have been under the influence of alcohol, clipped several cars, and ran away from the crash scene. None of these is confirmed, though.

The Ferrari in the video wears the Azzuro California, the same paintwork that Michael B. Jordan’s Ferrari 812 sported. The actor crashed his Ferrari while reportedly street-racing another Ferrari in Hollywood. Hopefully, the driver of this 458 wasn’t doing anything like that. Either way, his car will probably be a write-off.

The Ferrari 458 was a $250,000 affair when new. The sports car is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine which delivers 562 horsepower (570 metric horsepower) and 398 pound-feet (540 Newton meters) of torque for a run from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph (325 kph).

However, with that the front wheel on the driver’s side hanging like that, this Ferrari is only going places with the speed of the flatbed carrying it.
