Wilson was linked with a surprise move to AC Milan last week after reports the Magpies had rejected an approach from Atletico Madrid.

However, he may still leave St. James’ Park before the Premier League transfer deadline on February 1.

According to the Standard, Newcastle could sell Wilson for £18million this month.

His availability has put Chelsea, Arsenal and United on alert, the report adds.

All three clubs are reportedly keen to sign a new striker, with Chelsea also said to be eyeing Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.

Meanwhile, SunSport revealed how United pulled out of the race to sign Karim Benzema over the French legend’s wage demands.

Wilson recently touched on rumours regarding his future on the latest episode of his Footballer’s Football Podcast with Michail Antonio.

He explained: “It’s January. The window is open and there is always speculation with players, not just regarding myself but with everyone else in the squad as well. I haven’t got much more to say than that.”

The 31-year-old has 18 months remaining on his contract after signing an extension in September.

Currently sidelined with a calf injury, Wilson has scored eight goals this term despite earlier hamstring woes.

Since joining Newcastle from Bournemouth in 2020, the England international has notched 46 strikes in 102 appearances.

A January move could help secure his place in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.

Wilson has scored twice in his nine caps since making his debut in 2018.
