The Traitors star Ross has shared what his mum Diane said to him before being ‘killed’ in a horrifying funeral scene.

Dubbed the most explosive and heartbreaking twist of the series, Ross had to watch on as his mum Diane was buried alive in a coffin when she was given a ‘poisonous’ drink by Traitor Miles. After being banished from the show in a shock twist this evening, just hours after he had been recruited by Harry and Andrew as a Traitor himself, Ross ended up leaving the show.

However, he did leave them with a parting gift, confirming Diane was his mum before he headed out of the castle for good. Ross and Diane appeared on The Traitors: Uncloaked tonight where they discussed the funeral scenes.

Speaking on spin-off show The Traitors: Uncloaked, Ross revealed of the funeral scenes: “I was ready to text my siblings saying ‘it’s really happened, it’s finally happened guys, the day has come’ and when she appeared when I left, I was like ‘oh f***’.

“It was a mixture of emotions. At the end of the day, you are seeing your mum get put in a coffin. It was a mixture of, one, it’s still a secret at this point but it is emotional, but at the same time you can’t show too much emotion. Because then the other contestants are going to be like, ‘why is Ross crying? I didn’t know Diane and him were so close.”

Diane then admitted that Ross completely misunderstood what she had said as her parting words for him.

“When I was in the coffin, I knew – and I was waiting for him to look over and I wanted to say ‘love you’ but I didn’t want to move my mouth twice. I could say bye and wouldn’t be noticed. Then you thought I’d said ‘Miles’ anyway, he didn’t think I’d said bye,” she added.

Diane had previously revealed she was convinced Ross was a Traitor at one point.

She said after her exit when asked if she knew Ross was a Faithful or not: “No, no I didn’t. Only because I was in for longer than I expected to be, and I thought that they’d have got rid of me on the first day.

“I was hoping I could last at least three days, and that anything else would have been a bonus, because I am quite opinionated and direct. So, I thought something must be keeping me in – that’s the only reason why I suspected him. But when I had breakfast with him on the morning and my funeral, I just knew he wasn’t a Traitor, but that was only because I’d been in longer than I expected to be.”
