Pro Skier Henrik Harlaut Departs From Longtime Eyewear Sponsor Oakley

Henrik Harlaut, via an Instagram post shared today, has announced that he is no longer repping his longtime eyewear and helmet sponsor, Oakley.
“Many thanks to @oakleyskiing for the last 15 years! Lots of good memories over the years with lots of good people,” Harlaut wrote in the caption to his post. “Only got good things to say and very happy with the run we had together but have chosen to move on and take on new adventures/opportunities!”
What those “new adventures/opportunities” might be is unknown, but that didn’t stop skiers from speculating below Harlaut’s announcement on Instagram.
One skier suggested that the Oakley departure might signal that Harlaut’s outerwear company—the titular Harlaut Apparel—is planning to enter the eyewear business with Harlaut rocking the presumed line of shades.
Another skier claimed that Harlaut was wearing gear from another helmet and eyewear company, Flaxta, in his most recent videos. This guess appears most likely, as Flaxta now appears amongst Harlaut’s tagged sponsors on Instagram. An official announcement of any kind hasn’t occurred yet, though.
Ombraz, a sunglasses company known for its unique armless designs, didn’t waste the opportunity Harlaut’s departure provided, writing, “Let’s get you some Ombraz” below Harlaut’s post. I spotted a member of Ombraz’s team soliciting Harlaut’s contact information online earlier today, so the brand seems committed to the bit.
