Stefon Diggs’ brother, Darez, sued over alleged elevator attack, robbery

Darez Diggs, the brother of Buffalo Bills star wide receiver Stefon Diggs and Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, is facing a lawsuit over his alleged role in an attack on a man in an elevator that occurred last year. 

Darez Diggs was allegedly part of a group that attacked Cristopher Griffith inside a downtown Los Angeles apartment building on May 29, 2023.

Griffith is claiming the incident left him with pain, suffering and emotional distress, according to TMZ. 

Griffith is suing for $100,000 in jewelry and other property that he claims he had on him at the time of the attack.

The owner of the apartment complex is also being sued, according to the report. 

A robbery report was taken at the scene and the LAPD had been told at the time that “three men had stolen an orange purse containing diamonds and other jewelry.”

Police told TMZ that they are still investigating the incident and that no arrests have been made in connection with it. 

The ordeal was captured on surveillance video, which appeared to show Darez Diggs holding an elevator door open while two men kicked and hit Griffith inside the elevator. 

The men appeared to steal Griffith’s jewelry before they fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving on the scene.

Darez Diggs is a former member of the Los Angeles Wildcats of the XFL in 2020 and played for Marion University in college before he transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

He currently runs the lifestyle brand, Blue Boii.

His two brothers are well-known names in the NFL with Stefon Diggs in his fourth season with the Bills, who hosted the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC divisional round on Sunday. 

Trevon Diggs is a cornerback for the Cowboys after being picked in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
