🔝 Arsenal head and shoulders above rest of PL in one area | OneFootball
Arsenal #Arsenal
Arsenal’s bid to return to the Premier League’s higher reaches is off to a flying start in Saturday’s derby with Crystal Palace.
Mikel Arteta’s side took an early first-half lead courtesy of Gabriel Magalhães rising to power Declan Rice’s corner into Dean Henderson’s net.
Gabriel doubled his tally later in the first half with a near-identical move, this time glancing home Buyako Saka’s cross to the far post.
It means that Gunners rank head and shoulders above their top-flight peers with an 11th headed goal this season – more than any other team.

Rice and Saka’s respectively deliveries also extended the hosts’ equally unparalleled haul goals derived from corners during the current campaign to ten.
They were also Arsenal’s 12th and 13th set-piece goals of the league season.
But it didn’t end there as Gabriel broke a near four-year wait for a Premier League defender to score two headers in the same game since Antonio Rüdiger in February 2020.
The Brazilian boasts the similarly rare distinction of becoming Arsenal’s first player to produce the feat in a top-flight fixture since Olivier Giroud more than 11 years ago.
