HE’S been in charge for just a month, but Michael Beale is already facing calls for his dismissal at Sunderland.

The former Rangers boss was a surprise selection by the Black Cats’ board to replace Tony Mowbray who was unexpectedly axed at the Stadium of Light.

Beale faced protest on his opening game with fans chanting the ex-Celtic and Hibs boss’ name in the 3-0 defeat to Coventry.

And it was then revealed in reports this week he was the back-up plan after a bid to take FC Reims boss Will Still to Wearside fell by the wayside.

But now things have gone from bad to worse for Beale and his relationship with the fans.

They chanted “you’re getting sacked in the morning” as Sunderland slumped to a home defeat to Hull and were leap-frogged by the Tigers.

The Black Cats were booed off after Liverpool’s on-loan attacker Fabio Carvalho netted the visitors’ winner.

And it turned toxic with tweets on X.com backing up the stadium outrage.

One said: “I’m all for giving chances but Beale out for me. Absolutely livid man.”

Another added: “The appointment of Beale has been a disaster thus far, I don’t see him ever turning this around or winning the fans over. The football is awful, we have forgotten how to press and genuinely look scared in possession.”

A third said: “They should have only have sacked Mowbray if they had a plan for a better coach. Beale is making Mowbray look like a coaching genius for getting the quality of football he did out of the team last season and at times this season.”

And as the blame game continued with fans venting online one explained: “We’re behind the lads, we’re not behind Beale. What an ego.”

Beale told the BBC: “I get the fans’ frustrations but they can see the effort on the park from the players.

“But any little help they can give the players would be a help. They have to understand the strength of help they can give to the team.”

Beale was axed by Rangers with the Ibrox club 11 points off Celtic in early October.
