An awesome weekend for the Mavs just got even better

Mavs #Mavs

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — One night after winning a tiring overtime thriller in Chadron, Nebraska 102-95, the Mavs didn’t show an ounce of fatigue.

If anything, their opponent seemed far more tired than the Mavs men’s basketball team who cruised past Colorado Christian Saturday 82 to 43.

And now, the 11th-ranked Mavs are riding high with a 13-2 record.

It seemed like things couldn’t get any better, but on this glorious Monday, things did indeed get better.

That’s because the RMAC’s co-leader in steals, Mac Riniker, earned his 3rd RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season. Riniker averaged 14 points, nine rebounds, three blocks, and 1.5 steals per game over the weekend.

But that’s not all, CMU’s leading scorer Trevor Baskin continues to bask in his success (pun intended). The RS junior forward, averaging 15.9 ppg this season, was named to the Bevo Francis top-100 award watch list. The award is given annually to the nation’s top college basketball not in division I. It’s the second straight year Baskin has made the list, and perhaps most impressive this time around, Baskin is the lone RMAC player to make the cut.
