Driver using cell phone has open bottle of beer and bag of marijuana: Chagrin Falls police blotter

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio –

Traffic stop, Chagrin Boulevard:

After stopping a Euclid woman, 45 for using her cell phone while driving 8:47 p.m. Nov. 23 the officer saw she had an open bottle of beer visible in her center console and noted the smell of marijuana. A search of the vehicle netted a baggie containing marijuana. The woman was cited for the cell phone use and open container.

Warrant arrest, Cleveland Street:

An officer on patrol 4 p.m. Nov. 24 checked a vehicle’s registration and learned that the owner, a Warren man, 24, had an active felony warrant for a drug charge out of Portage County. A short time later the officer saw a man operating the vehicle who matched the description of the wanted person. He was arrested and turned over to Portage County authorities.

Suspicious, Nob Hill:

An unknown person spray painted foul language on a woman’s car bumper overnight Nov. 26. She was able to clean it off.

Found property, West Washington Street:

A man walking his dog 9:13 a.m. Nov. 26 found a credit card and turned it into the police station. The issuing bank asked that the card be destroyed.

Fraud, Hastings Lane:

A woman reported on Nov. 27 that someone used her credit card information to purchase something through Amazon.  Police are investigating.

Neighbor trouble, Carriage Drive:

Someone smeared dog feces on a woman’s car door handle sometime before she reported it 2:30 a.m. Nov. 29. She believes it was related to ongoing issues with other tenants in the building. Police are investigating.
