Bayern Munich willing to offer €100 million for ‘untouchable’ Barcelona captain this winter | OneFootball

Having marched past UD Barbastro in the Copa del Rey, Barcelona stare their first chance to grab silverware this season in the eye in the upcoming Spanish Super Cup.
The team may be far from their best, but it goes without saying that two strong games at this point would revitalise the dressing room.
A large part of the onus of keeping the squad on their toes falls on the captains. Along with Sergi Roberto and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, it is the young Ronald Araujo who shares a part of the responsibility.
While the youngster is currently focused on his present at Barcelona, he is parallelly fighting a big battle off the field. Bayern Munich are working hard against the clock to sign the Uruguayan centre-half this winter.
The Bundesliga champions’ manager, Thomas Tuchel, has been insisting that he is the missing piece in their puzzle, despite there being little to no scope of signing him this month.
The player, however, is said to have ruled out a move mid-season under any circumstances. He is completely invested in Xavi’s plans and does not deem it right to leave halfway.
Now, according to reports Sique Rodriguez on SER, the Bavarians are prepared to go all out for Araujo and are willing to pay €100 million for his immediate signing.
Barcelona are aware of the development but maintain that Araujo is untouchable in the squad. As such, any bid will be turned down by the reigning La Liga champions.
While the Uruguayan is firm about his decision to stay in Catalonia now, the story could well be different in the summer.
Indeed, Araujo deeply respects the crest and wishes to play for Barcelona throughout his career. At the same time, however, he hopes to see how the remainder of the club’s campaign proceeds before committing his future.
