Video recap: Trying to explain the confusing finish between Lions-Cowboys

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys traded blows down to the wire in prime-time action from AT&T Stadium in Week 17. And while it was one of the more exciting games of the season, here we are talking about referees, contradictory explanations and a confusing finish.

The Lions lost 20-19 to the Cowboys after they scored in the final minute, then failed to convert on three two-point conversions. Well, they hit the first one, with Taylor Decker catching the go-ahead conversion in the corner of the end zone. But the officials threw a flag for illegal touching, and that’s what set off the chain of events that led us to this point.

Dallas jumped offsides on the second try. And the Lions threw an incomplete pass on the third try, then failed to recover the onside kick before falling to the Cowboys. See below for related links on the controversial call, and for our video recap from the press box at AT&T Stadium.
