Taylor Swift Released Cardigans as Merch for “Folklore” Single “Cardigan”

In case you haven’t heard, Taylor Swift has just released a surprise new album, Folklore, complete with a very cottagecore vibe and a mysterious collaborator that could be her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The album’s lead single is “Cardigan,” and Taylor has added an actual cardigan sweater as merch in her official store.

The cardigan in question is officially described as a “cream cable knit cardigan with black matte buttons, dark gray trim [and] light gray star embroidery on both arms,” plus a patch featuring the album’s title, Folklore. The cardigan is a classic varsity style sweater, meant to be worn a bit oversized. It would look super cute over a slip dress, worn ‘90s-style with some chunky boots, or full-on cozy with your favorite leggings on the weekends.

While Taylor doesn’t specify exactly what kind of cardigan she was inspired by for the song, she does sing about feeling less than perfect until a new love brought her back to life. “I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone’s bed,” Taylor sings in the piano-driven song. “You put me on and said I was your favorite.” As cute as this sweater is, we have a feeling you’ll be calling it your favorite too!

The sweater isn’t the only Folklore merch you can treat yourself to; there’s also a phone case featuring Taylor standing amidst the trees, a gray tie-dyed sweatshirt, and a pop socket, in case you want to go full-on Folklore from your closet to your tech.

The cardigan retails for $49 exclusively on Taylor’s website, is available in XS/S, M/L and XL/2X (per the description Taylor herself wears XS/S) and ships in 6-8 weeks, just in time for fall! If you decide to get yourself a TSwift cardi, your purchase will also include a digital edition of Folklore but be quick! The cardigan (and most merch) will only be available until July 25 at 11:59 P.M. ET and until supplies last.
