Dandenong North toddler struck by car and killed while waiting to cross the road with his father

A two-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a car while while standing next to his dad waiting to cross the road.
The pair were standing in the bike lane on Stud road in Dandenong North, Melbourne, at about midday when the toddler was hit.
Police said CPR was performed on the two-year-old but he died at the scene.
It’s understood the dad was waiting for the car to turn before crossing the road but instead the car entered the bike lane and struck the little boy.

The little boy’s aunty said her nephew was on his way home with his dad after the pair spent the day together in Cranbourne.
Emergency services are redirecting traffic on the corner of Mcfees and Stud roads.
The driver of the vehicle stopped to help the toddler and has since been assisting police.
Police have launched an investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the horror crash.
