Big Bash League: Golfer Min Woo Lee stars during Perth Scorchers warm-ups

The Perth Scorchers are ready to cook after bringing star power to their Boxing Day blockbuster with the Melbourne Renegades at Optus Stadium.

Golfing sensation and cricket fan Min Woo Lee was on hand as the Scorchers warmed up for their clash against the second-last Renegades.

No stranger to treading hollowed turf, Lee took a close-up gander at the centre wicket – the same strip Perth cruised to victory on against the Hurricanes – before ingratiating himself among the bowlers.

The former Australian Masters champion is believed to be mates with Scorchers and Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson.

He also got a first-hand look at Lance ‘Wild Thing’ Morris as he went through his paces, bowling on the outfield.

“I absolutely love (cricket),” he told Channel 7.

“I’m not here much but when I am I love to get down and support the boys. I’m good friends with Jhye and AJ Tye.”

He even took the time to take a few photos and shook the hand of growing sensation Jake Fraser-McGurk.

As well as plying his trade for the Renegades, Fraser-McGurk is an avid golfer who splashes his on-course exploits across social media.

The Scorchers were asked to bat first after losing the toss.

The reigning champions made just one change to the team that defeated the Hurricanes last week.

BBL12 final hero Nick Hobson has been named in place of skipper Ashton Turner after he tore his meniscus.

Turner will miss the remainder of the campaign, while Aaron Hardie will take the reigns as captain in his place.

The start of the match was delayed by the Sydney Sixers clash against the Melbourne Stars running late.
