The British pound moved off the lowest levels of the day after Michael Gove, the minister for the Cabinet Office, tweeted that there is an agreement in principle on all issues in the UK-EU Withdrawal Agreement Joint Committee. The U.K. will withdraw clauses 44, 45 and 47 of the U.K. Internal Market Bill, and not introduce any similar provisions in the Taxation Bill, according to the statement. The U.K. had previously said it would withdraw those clauses in the context of a trade agreement. The statement said the move protects the Good Friday agreement “in all its dimensions.”
