Yahoo UK’s poll of the week lets you vote and indicate your strength of feeling on one of the week’s hot topics. After 72 hours the poll closes and, each Friday, we’ll publish and analyse the results, giving readers the chance to see how polarising a topic has become and if their view chimes with other Yahoo UK readers.

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special has become almost as much a staple of festive TV as the King’s Speech, The Snowman and Call The Midwife. This year the celebrities competing to be named Christmas Champion range from a news reader, a pop singer, a soap actor and former sports player.

Unlike the main series of Strictly, viewers have no say in who takes home the Christmas glitterball trophy, and the winner is chosen by the studio audience, after they have been scored by judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, Head Judge Shirley Ballas. So which of the competing celebrities are you most excited about seeing take to the dancefloor?

BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent, who is partnered with Strictly pro Graziano Di Prima for a Foxtrot, has already revealed she was injured during training for the pre-recorded festive special, and is suffering from rib pain. This could affect her performance.

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick will be dancing with Nancy Xu. He said: “I’m hoping to spread Christmas cheer and have a good laugh with my professional dancer…get me on that dancefloor!” The 29-year-old, known for playing Jay Brown in the soap, has a musical theatre background, which could put him at an advantage.

Waterloo Road star Tillie Amartey will be teaming up with Neil Jones to dance the Jive. She is hoping to impress tough judge Craig Revel Horwood. She insisted she does not have dance experience, saying: “When I was seven, maybe six, I did one dancing competition… I didn’t do too well…so I’m going to say no!”

Historian Dan Snow is teamed up with Nadiya Bychkova and despite his adventurous background he claimed: “I am absolutely terrified about hitting the dance floor.” The 6ft 5in TV presenter has won the Thames Boat Race, crossed the English Channel in a dingy on a rescue mission, and chased a group of rioters during the 2011 London Riots. Snow is clearly fit and active, but being tall can ne a disadvantage on the dance floor.

Former rugby player Danny Cipriani will be dancing with 2022’s winning professional Jowita Przystał. The former sportsman has a chequered past of arrests for drink driving and assault and was hit by a double decker bus while on a pub crawl in 2013. The 36-year-old has also revealed a battle with depression. He said: “After addressing my own ideas and beliefs, I am very much looking forward to expressing myself through dance with no limitations.”

Sugababe Keisha Buchanan will be dancing Round Round with Gorka Marquez and looking to push the audiences’ buttons. She has said: “I am looking forward to learning some new moves and embracing the dancefloor.” The pop singer has dance experience, but how will she perform in hold?

All will be revealed in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 4.40pm on Christmas Day.

But what do you think? Tell us in the poll below.
