Ex-Giant put dagger into Eagles’ comeback effort | ‘Jalen Hurts just lost to DREW LOCK’

Eagles #Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts thought he was launching a pass to AJ Brown late in the fourth quarter to set up a game-tying field goal try.

Instead, Seattle Seahawks safety Julian Love came running across the field for his second interception of the Monday night thriller with six seconds remaining to seal his team’s 20-17 win and the Eagles’ third loss in a row.

NFL analyst Ryan Clark called the throw a “bad decision” by Hurts during his appearance on SportsCenter at midnight with Scott Van Pelt.

Love’s first interception came earlier in the fourth quarter when Hurts threw a deep ball to Quez Watkins on a 1st-and-10 try with the Eagles clinging to a 17-13 lead.

The Eagles know Love well because he started his career with the New York Giants, developing into a mainstay in 2022, when he started all 16 games, made two interceptions and notched 124 tackles. This season, Love, the Giants’ fourth-round draft pick in 2019, has four interceptions and 99 tackles.

Of course, the game ended this way because the Eagles’ defense could not stop Seattle backup QB Drew Lock on a 10-play, 92-yard game-winning touchdown drive. It took Seattle 1 minute, 28 seconds to march down the field, leaving 28 seconds on the clock.

The reaction to Hurts’ day — 17 for 31 passing with 143 yards and two interceptions, with 82 yards rushing and two TDs — came fast and furious:

*Clears throat* *Taps mic* Jalen Hurts has officially lost MVP also.

Jalen Hurts just lost to DREW LOCK.

The Eagles’ best play is Jalen Hurts tucking the ball and running. There is no excuse for that, in December 2023.
