SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Good morning and happy Friday eve! We are tracking one more amazing day for the ArkLaTex until our next cold front arrives on Friday. Temperatures this morning are chilly, but warmer compared to what we have seen over the past couple of days. By the middle of the afternoon everyone will be in the mid 70s with ample sunshine. The unsettled weather on Friday will begin to move into the viewing area during the early afternoon and will last through the evening hours. Behind the front we are tracking much colder temperatures for the weekend as well as more potential showers on Sunday. Looking ahead to next week we are tracking drier weather, but also cool temperatures through at least Wednesday.

So as you are getting ready to head out the door this morning you only need to grab a light jacket for the early morning hours as temperatures will be moving up into the mid 70s by the middle of the afternoon. Like what we have seen all week long it will be another day of boundless sunshine making for one last perfect day for the ArkLaTex.

Things will quickly change on Friday though as our next cold front pushes into the region. Showers will begin to move in during the late morning hours and will really ramp up during the afternoon and evening. The biggest concern will be some heavy rain and perhaps some gusty winds. While there could be a couple strong storms during the evening hours the overall severe weather potential continues to remain low. The wet weather should clear out before sunrise on Saturday. Behind the cold front we are expecting much cooler weather with highs on Saturday in the upper 50s and on Sunday temperatures will struggle to make it into the 50s. In addition, we are tracking the growing potential for some cold showers on Sunday as a developing disturbance moves through the region.

Looking ahead to next week we are expecting generally dry, but chilly conditions for the ArkLaTex. Temperatures through at least the first half of the week look to not be able to make it out of the 50s. We should see some sunshine Monday and Tuesday, but there is the potential of showers for the ArkLaTex on Wednesday.

In the meantime, make sure you enjoy this weather today as big changes are on the horizon for the ArkLaTex. Have a great day!
