Brooklyn 99’s Andre Braugher seen for the final time in public before sudden death at 61 from ‘short illness’

BROOKLYN 99’s Andre Braugher was seen for the final time in public at a red carpet in New York last year before sudden death at 61.

The award-winning actor, who played Captain Raymond Holt in the American sitcom, passed away on Monday.

Andre was thought to have been last pictured in public at the series finale event for Paramount+’s The Good Fight, with his wife.

The red carpet was held at the Museum of Art and Design Theatre on November 2 in NYC.

Andre looked very dapper in a checked navy two-piece suit with a light blue tie.

Meanwhile wife Ami Brabson, who he tied the knot with in 1991, opted for a bright yellow maxi dress.

Brooklyn 99 fans were left heartbroken when they found outthat Andre had passed away.

Andre’s publicist confirmed his death to Variety, but the specific illness has not been shared yet.

Many rushed to social media to pay their respects.

One said on X: “Rip Andre Braugher thank you for a amazing portrayl of captain holt in brooklyn 99 one of my favourite sitcom characters thoughts are with his loved ones.”

Another wrote: “RIP you legend.”

“Terribly sad news about Andre Braugher. Captain Holt was my favourite character on one of the best TV shows there’s been.” a third tweeted.

Andre is also best known for his roles in Homicide: Life on the Street and Men of a Certain Age.
