Jamie Oliver’s speedy salmon pasta that takes less than 10 minutes to make

No matter how much you love to cook, sometimes the last thing you want to do is spend hours in the kitchen after a long day of work.

Thankfully there are plenty of speedy yet tasty recipes out there that can be whipped up in 10 minutes or less – but they certainly don’t compromise on flavour.

Jamie Oliver is known for his quick and simple dishes that are ideal for busy families to prepare in a rush, and his recipe for one-pan smoked salmon pasta is bound to impress your loved ones thanks its flavoursome and tangy ingredients.

The recipe uses cut-up lasagne sheets rather than actual pasta, giving the dish a much more rustic feel.

And the flavours from the smoked salmon, lemon and parmesan cheese blend beautifully with each other, with the addition of spinach giving the meal an extra kick of health.

The recipe can be prepared in less than 10 minutes with a handful of ingredients, and here’s everything you need to make it yourself.

Jamie Oliver’s one-pan salmon pasta

Ingredients

  • 125 g fresh lasagne sheets
  • 2 spring onions
  • 80 g spinach
  • 60 g smoked salmon (2 slices)
  • ½ a lemon
  • 5 g Parmesan cheese
  • olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cottage cheese
  • optional: extra virgin olive oil

    Method

  • Boil the kettle, and cut the lasagne sheets in half lengthways then into 2cm strips with a crinkle-cut knife if you have one.
  • Trim the spring onions and chop finely with the spinach and half of the salmon. Grate the lemon zest and then the parmesan, making sure to keep them separate.
  • Put a 28cm frying pan on a high heat. Once it’s hot, add a drizzle of olive oil, then the spring onions, spinach, chopped salmon and lemon zest.
  • Place the pasta into the pan, then pour in enough boiling kettle water to just cover the pasta – about 250ml. Let it bubble away for 4 minutes, or until the pasta has absorbed most of the water and you’ve got a nice sauce. Stir it regularly and add a splash more water if needed.
  • Turn the heat off, squeeze in the lemon juice, stir in the cottage cheese and Parmesan, then season with salt and pepper. Tear over the remaining salmon, and finish with an extra drizzle of olive oil if you like.
