Player grades: Joel Embiid dominates as Sixers knock off Lakers

A notoriously slow starter to begin the season, Maxey was terrific to start this one. He was drilling on the move 3-pointers, he was getting into the paint, and he was making sure he got his guys the ball as well. No matter who the Lakers stuck on him whether it was Max Christie, De’Angelo Russell, or Taurean Prince, they were no match for Maxey. He exploded to the rim on a regular basis and he was able to have a dominant offensive night. This was one of those performances that shows progression in finding the balance between scoring and also making plays for others.
