Pumped-up Katie Taylor makes Croke Park demand as she roars ‘don’t ever doubt me’ after besting Chantelle Cameron

KATIE TAYLOR was more fired-up than we’ve ever seen her moments after securing redemption against Chantelle Cameron.

Amid the backdrop of a frenzied 3Arena crowd, the ordinarily soft-spoken 37-year-old was in war mode during her post-fight interview.

Her mother Bridget leapt to embrace her moments after the judges' scorecards were read out in her favour by 98-92 and 96-94 while the other one deemed it a 95-95 draw

As the enormity of becoming the undisputed champ at 140lbs as well as 135lbs sank in, she roared: “Two-weight undisputed champion? That sounds very nice!

“That was the longest six months of my life waiting for this rematch.

“I’m so glad to do this here in front of everyone – this is my real homecoming tonight!

“Whoever wrote me off obviously doesn’t know me very well.

“I’m nearly offended that I was the underdog going into this fight. Don’t ever doubt me.

“Tonight you saw the real me. When I box like that no one can beat me.”

As for what’s next? She reverted back to her typically short and sweet disposition there.

“Let’s get the trilogy at Croke Park!”

Right on cue Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn then sidled up to the microphone and was far more verbose in laying out the argument as to why the 82k capacity home of GAA is required for round three.

Among the points he made, the 44-year-old stated: “I tell you what…to the people of Ireland and the Irish government…Croke Park HAS to happen.

“She’s done everything for the sport of boxing and she deserves it so much.

“Next spring/summer we will give you a venue and a night you will never forget.”

Should this plan come to fruition you sense The Bray Bomber won’t be going into her next renewal of acquaintances with Cameron as an underdog.

She somehow rolled back the years to emerge as a conclusive victor by continually outboxing her foe with supreme footwork and boxing acumen.

Aside from the odd scare such as her hitting the deck in the opening round due to a slip and weathering a barrage in the seventh she was the clear-cut winner as take two of her homecoming went much better than May 20 had.
