Premier League club Arsenal is on the verge of finalizing a permanent transfer for Brentford loanee David Raya, marking a strategic move to secure the goalkeeper’s future at the Emirates Stadium. Raya, who initially joined the Gunners on loan from Brentford last summer with a buy option for June, is now set to solidify his place in the team.

According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the completion of the Spain international’s move in 2024 is deemed “guaranteed.” Arsenal will exercise the option by triggering Raya’s $34 million release clause, a decisive step in securing the 28-year-old goalkeeper’s services on a long-term basis.

In anticipation of this transition, Raya has already committed to a “potential long-term contract” with Arsenal, underscoring the club’s commitment to his continued presence. The deal structure has gained approval from Brentford, aligning with Financial Fair Play regulations and highlighting the amicable nature of the negotiations.

This development serves as a significant positive for Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, who holds a high regard for the Spanish shot-stopper. Arteta, demonstrating his confidence in Raya, promptly established him as the team’s new No. 1 goalkeeper upon his arrival at the Emirates last summer.
