If proving himself to Pep Guardiola wasn’t hard enough for Jack Grealish a harder test awaits him when he eventually hangs up his boots.

The England star moved to Manchester City in the summer of 2022 in a £100million transfer from Aston Villa, winning the Premier League title in his maiden season despite failing to nail down a regular starting place. But he excelled in the 2023/24 campaign, an integral part of his side’s treble-winning campaign.

And the post-season celebrations of the 28-year-old are set to go down in folklore, jetting off to Ibiza the day after the Champions League final before taking centre stage at the club’s trophy parade. Therefore, fans may not be surprised to learn he’s now targeting a career as a DJ when he retires from football.

Grealish is currently on England duty with a trip to North Macedonia on Monday signifying the final game of their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. And during the international break he teased his ambitions with teammate Declan Rice.

“You know I’ve started DJing?” he asked the West Ham man, according to talkSPORT. Rice reportedly asked him his stage name in reply, to which the City star declared: “DJ Grealo bro.”

But the conversation soon turned serious, with Grealish implying his ambitions were serious, adding: “I started lessons. I said it in an interview about a year ago, but I’ve never actually had a lesson until like two weeks ago. It is so hard. Three hours I was in there. Come out and didn’t know anything!”

Grealish was an unused substitute as the Three Lions beat Malta 2-0 on Friday night. But Guardiola may have welcomed that given his side is already injury ravaged ahead of a crucial game with Liverpool on Saturday.

Indeed, the playmaker himself this month heaped praise on his club boss. And he insinuated he’s more than content with life under the Spaniard with City currently top of the table.

The treble winners’ third shirt is their most bold offering yet. Puma describes City’s new design as ‘featuring an electric spark pattern throughout, fused with neon pink versions of the club crest and partner logos’ to stand out

“Guardiola gives us so much,” he said. “In my opinion he’s the best manager in the world. He’s shown that over the years. You can have the best manager in the world, but you also need the team and dressing room to do that.”
