Opening a long road trip with a win extended the winning streak to four games. Fueled by Lithuanian big Domantas Sabonis, the Sacramento Kings are looking good.

Sabonis, 27, nearly averaged a triple-double packing 24.0 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 9.8 assists in the last four showings in the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season, including a monster double-double in the win versus the Los Angeles Lakers in Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday.

“Our defense,” he singled out from the team performance to overcome a triple-double posted by ageless LeBron James, “Coming out aggressive, running, just kind of playing our game, being in gaps, making them do something else.”

At the top of his second full campaign at Sacramento, he is up to 19.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.0 blocks per contest over ten appearances. Shooting 60% from the field adds to his leading status on the team coached by Mike Brown.

“We are continuing to have a better defense than last year. Last couple of games, we have put up more points than we are used to, compared to last year,” added the three-time NBA All-Star, “We got to keep doing all the little details. We can not get complacent.”

The next game is opposite the San Antonio Spurs in Frost Bank Center on Friday. Further traveling for upcoming meetings with the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, and Minnesota Timberwolves shape the rest of the road trip, stretching until next Friday.
