Michigan veterans would get free access to state parks under new proposal

LANSING, MI – Michigan’s veterans would have free, lifetime access to any state park under a new proposal from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration.

The proposal will be put into Whitmer’s state budget recommendation for the next fiscal year. The current fiscal year budget ends Sept. 30, 2024.
