Tim Scott Gives Roundabout Answer on Ukraine Aid Question

Sen. Tim Scott (R., S.C.), asked if he would send more money to Ukraine, responded that U.S. officials need a better understanding of where past aid has gone, echoing concerns that have given some Senate Republicans pause as they face a $106 billion request from the White House for Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific region. Asked directly if he favors more aid, he gave a roundabout answer.
Republicans on the Hill are growing skeptical of new funding for Ukraine, especially in the House. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) has made additional Ukraine aid a top priority and said he’s hopeful his colleagues will find a way to support the country’s military. Many expect any deal to include changes to border policy favored by Republicans.
